Widderbock 2023
This was one of Alexander Brink's first wines. The grapes come from the enchanting Widderbock Vineyard, which he initially intended to uproot until he crafted this exceptional wine from the land. Planted in 1978, these old Müller-Thurgau vines yield slowly. Fermentation on the skins with the stems for 48 hours, followed by pressing and completion of fermentation in used French oak barrels, where some berries are added. The wine is aged for 10 months on the lees with occasional bâtonnage, and no sulfur is added.
This 2023 vintage is very gracefully built lean wine with a present acidity. Grapefruit is the most prominent Aroma you will get in your nose. You might notice other citrus variety’s and some stone fruit sweetness. These aromas are accompanied by some floral, green - notes - think alpine herbs. In the mouth the Aromas get a little bit more substantial. You will recognize gooseberry and Bergamot. Subtil Wooden notes give the finishing touch. This will be a perfect companion for fish.

- Hand-picked grapes from the Widderbock vineyard (planted in 1978). Spontanious fermentation starts in Inox cuves, after a few days pressed and the rest of the fermentation in wooden barrels where it stays for 1 year on the lies with a few bâtonnages.
