LaRuraL
Brothers Xavi & Andreu Padró launched their winemaking venture, LaRuraL, in 2018, with a name that reflects their rural roots and honors their mother, who managed the family’s vineyards before they took over. The name, LaRuraL, uses the feminine article "La" to symbolize her pivotal role. Their family has been cultivating grapes and other crops in Santes Creus, Tarragona, on their organically certified farm in Alt Camp for four generations, but had never bottled their own wine until now.
Inspired by Catalunya's vibrant natural wine scene, Andreu and Xavi transitioned from their careers in architecture and mechanics to winemaking. Starting in the basement of their family home, they set out to create fresh, light natural wines without sulfur. Initially working with an enologist, they soon sought inspiration from admired winemakers like Oriol Artigas and Laureano Serres. Today, LaRuraL’s wines are crafted using stainless steel tanks, select barrels, and short, infusion-style macerations.
