Riu Pintat
Riu Pintat is the result of three friends, Charlie Bay, Adrien Veyrunes, and Samuel Dautheville, sharing a dream of making natural wines at the foot of the Cévennes mountains in Conqueyrac. Their 2.5 hectares of vines are worked with care and attention to detail. In the vineyard, as in the cellar, they aim to intervene as little as possible. The soils are plowed every other row, and in some years, green manure is sown. They ensure that fermentations with native yeasts proceed smoothly and may add 1 gram of SO2 per hectoliter if they feel it necessary to mitigate risk.
The harvest, bottling, label printing, and participation in tasting festivals – always surrounded by good souls and great wines – are the reasons they embarked on this project. With their evident talent, one could easily forget that they are completely self-taught.
