Noto — Sicily
Salvatore Marino
Salvatore Marino, known as Turi, is an exceptional natural wine farmer from southeast Sicily, between Noto and Pachino. As a fifth-generation wine farmer, Turi is the first in his family to produce his own wine. He is dedicated to preserving biodiversity in his vineyard, ensuring a balanced ecosystem.
Turi initially worked in other wineries, using their cellars for his wines. Now, he is building his own facility to have complete control over his production. His vineyards are dotted with fruit trees, which he planted for a practical reason: "I planted them for when I get hungry while working in the vines."
In addition to wine, Turi also makes oil, bread, and pasta, showcasing his commitment to traditional Sicilian craftsmanship. Salvatore Marino is a notable figure in the natural wine industry, bringing the Sicilian sun straight into your glass.
