Els Jelipins
Els Jelipins is more than just a winery—it's a heartfelt family project born from Glòria Garriga's dream of living harmoniously with nature in the serene hills of Font Rubí, near Barcelona. Together with her daughter Berta, Glòria set out in 2001 to find the perfect vineyard plots in Penedès Superior, where the unique soils and climate could bring their vision to life. A former agricultural engineer, Glòria was disillusioned by the aggressive viticulture she saw around her and chose instead to embrace organic, sustainable practices.
The soul of Els Jelipins lies in the rare, indigenous Sumoll grape, a variety that had nearly vanished from Catalonia until passionate winemakers like Glòria began reviving it. With an annual production of just 4,000 bottles, each wine is crafted with love and patience, fermenting slowly at natural temperatures and aging gracefully in neutral vessels. For Glòria and Berta, Els Jelipins is more than a name—it's a symbol of their commitment to a simple, enriched life, in harmony with the land they cherish.
