crafted by winemaker Joan-Ramon Escoda, is from the Conca de Barberà appellation and is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Located in Catalunya, Conca de Barberà is a small DO bordered by Penedés, Costers del Segre, and Tarragona, featuring cold winters and hot summers tempered by cool sea winds. The grapes are sourced from several parcels of 12 to 30-year-old vines, grown on limestone and clay soils at altitudes of 450 to 600 meters, with varied exposures.
The viticulture practices are biodynamic, promoting biodiversity through vegetation left between rows, and organic compost from a small farm with sheep and chickens. The soils are covered with vegetal mulch to retain moisture in the dry climate. For winemaking, grapes are handpicked, macerated for 20 days, and fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel. The wine is aged in large French oak tonneaux for 12 months, bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no added sulfur at any stage.
