Celler Escoda-Sanahuja
Celler Escoda-Sanahuja is located in the small village of Prenafeta (Catalonia), at an altitude of 450 meters. Founded in 1997 by Joan Ramon Escoda and Maria Carmen Sanahuja, they took over Maria's family domain and began farming organically from the start. By 2003, they embraced biodynamic practices, and in 2007, they eliminated the use of sulfur entirely.
Today, the estate spans 11 hectares, almost equally divided between white and red grapes, spread across three different plots. The estate also includes livestock, olive groves, and almond trees.
In addition to their winery, they run a restaurant called 'Tossal Gros' and host a natural wine fair called H2O, which only showcases winemakers who do not use sulfur, filtration, or any stabilizers.
Joan Ramon and Maria Carmen are very active in the Spanish natural wine scene, making them legendary figures in the community.
