Les Paradetes 2018

From the Conca de Barberà appellation and features a blend of 70% Garnacha, 15% Samsó (Carignan), and 15% Sumoll. Conca de Barberà is a small DO in Catalunya, nestled between Penedés, Costers del Segre, and Tarragona, characterized by cold winters and hot summers, moderated by cool sea winds. The grapes are sourced from several parcels of 12 to 30-year-old vines, grown on limestone and clay soils at altitudes ranging from 450 to 600 meters, with diverse exposures.

The viticulture is biodynamic, promoting biodiversity by leaving vegetation between the rows, and using organic compost sourced from a small farm with sheep and chickens. The soils are mulched with vegetation to help retain moisture in the dry climate. In winemaking, grapes are handpicked and fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel, then aged for 14 months in large French oak barrels, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no added sulfur at any stage.

Tasting notes reveal aromas of fresh red and black berries complemented by well-integrated oak, while the palate offers plenty of fruit balanced by marked acidity, ensuring great potential for long aging
