Domaine Jean-François Mérieau
The origins of Domaine Mérieau date back to the post-World War II era when Georgina, widowed, began producing wine on her own. Her daughter Paulette and son-in-law Jean later expanded the estate, laying the groundwork for future generations. Jacky Mérieau, their son, further enhanced the vineyard's reputation through his dedication to quality and vineyard restructuring.
In 2000, Jean-François Mérieau, after studying in Bordeaux and working in South Africa, took over the family estate. He focuses on rediscovering the terroirs of Loir-et-Cher, practicing organic viticulture with hand-harvesting and natural soil cultivation.
Today, the 35-hectare estate, on the south-facing slopes of the Cher River, produces a rich variety of wines from both young and century-old vines. Jean-François continues to honor his family’s legacy while crafting wines of exceptional quality.
