'Baluma' Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2022
The estate vineyard is located just outside the Barolo zone near Monforte d’Alba, on a west/southwest-facing hillside at 1,500 feet above sea level. The soils are a mix of clay and limestone marl. The vines, averaging 15 years old, produce vibrant fruit.
The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine is aged for five months in oak tonneaux (500L) and four months in cement tanks.
It offers aromas of red berries, cherries, wildflowers, and warm spices. Medium-bodied and silky with ripe tannins, it pairs beautifully with grilled sausage, slow-braised meats, and mushroom-based dishes. "Baluma" means “to dance” in the Piedmontese dialect.
