Over the past two decades, terms like organic, biodynamic, and natural wine have gained attention. While often grouped together, natural wine stands apart.
Natural wine is made with minimal intervention, from the vineyard to the bottle. It starts with exceptionally healthy grapes grown in balanced vineyards, where no synthetic chemicals or pesticides are used. These vineyards are typically managed with organic or biodynamic methods, ensuring a thriving ecosystem.
In the cellar, the process remains as natural as possible. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, driven by the grapes’ wild yeast—no commercial additives are needed. The juice is naturally stable and doesn’t require added sulfur or other treatments.
Unlike industrial wines, which are often rushed to market and heavily manipulated with chemicals to balance flavors, natural wines develop slowly, finding their own balance. The result is a wine that’s not only healthier but also more expressive and complex.
We clearly indicate which wines are ‘natural’ in our selections. If in doubt, listen to your body—you’ll notice the difference.
