Racines Blanc 2020
Les Cailloux du Paradis, owned by Claude Courtois and located in Soings-en-Sologne near Cheverny, is a benchmark for natural winemaking. Together with his sons Etienne and Julien, Claude cultivates 13 hectares of vines, including Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Côt (Malbec), Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pineau d’Aunis, and other local varieties. The vineyard is managed with deep respect for nature, avoiding chemical interventions and employing unconventional winemaking techniques.
Racines is the estate’s flagship cuvée. The Racines Blanc 202O is an intricate blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Menu Pineau, Romorantin, and Chardonnay, aged for 30 months in barrels. This extended maturation enhances its complexity and texture, delivering a wine of remarkable depth and balance.
Grape Varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Menu Pineau, Romorantin, Chardonnay
The wine offers a layered and vibrant profile, with notes of citrus, orchard fruits, and subtle nutty and floral undertones, supported by a mineral-driven backbone. Ideal for pairing with refined dishes, it also holds significant potential for aging, allowing its character to evolve beautifully over time.
