La Fralluca lies among the hilltops between Suvereto and Monteverdi Marittimo, about 120 meters above sea level, in a beautiful place, wild and unspoiled, surrounded by forests and Mediterranean scrub. The estate is about 45 hectares, including 10 of the vineyard.
The cold breeze of summer evenings, the closeness to the sea and the dominant position makes this site unique.
The company is run directly by us, Francesca and Luca, since after seeing these places, for passion and love we immagined this project.
The vineyards cover 10 hectares and are all located in Suvereto, Località Barbiconi. The soils are medium-textured, calcareous, skeletal-rich, with plenty of stones.
There are 7,000 vines per hectare and they are cultivated with Guyot and bilateral cordon system.
Seven hectares are dedicated to the red grapes, Sangiovese, the dominant variety, then Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Alicante; white grapes are most of Vermentino, while the other variety grown is Viognier.
Each activity in the vineyard respects our beautiful and unique terroir, and is dictated by nature, so that everything follows is always authentic and at the same time unique.
The cellar is modern and functional, almost entirely underground, to have natural temperature and humidity and to create the minimum environmental impact.
During the harvest the hand-picked grapes are placed in small boxes and taken quickly in the winery where they are immediately processed. The clusters are selected and then destemmed, the grapes are then manually selected a second time on a vibrating sorting table.
The aime of our winemaking philosophy is to preserve the characteristics given to the grapes by the terroir and vineyard work.
